While we are working at Escuela Mayatan, we often question if things that happen at our school would happen at schools in the US. It is important to note that corporal punishment is still allowed and even requested by parents here in Honduras.
Would the 8th grade students of 1st period science class show up with machetes?
Would 7th grade gym class (keeping in mind that half of the 7th graders are out of control crazy) be spent using their machetes to chop down small trees? Apparently, the gym teachers worried that Hector was going to cut someone, which, gratefully, didn't happen.
PS The internet service at school has been fixed, so it is not unbearably slow during the day. I hope you will be getting more blogs from us as a result. Even really short ones, as requested by my parents in NH.
